Instapage vs. Leadpages vs. ClickFunnels: Which is Best?
With several web-based landing page applications available, choosing the best option for your business can be a challenging process.
Do you need simplicity or power? An all-in-one solution or a landing page tool that works on its own but also integrates with other software? An affordable tool or a large, more comprehensive marketing toolbox?
Three of the most popular landing page applications available today are Instapage (Visit Website), Leadpages (Visit Website) and ClickFunnels (Visit Website). All offer a similar range of tools, albeit with some providing extra features and functionality.
Below, we’ve compared all three applications in ease of use, customizability, power and overall value for marketers. We’ve also included links to more detailed comparisons of each tool to give you all the information you need to invest in the right landing page software.
Instapage is a web-based landing page tool that lets you create, host and split test your landing pages without ever having to set up your own hosting or touch a line of code.
Using the Instapage builder, you can design a new landing page from scratch by dragging and dropping page elements onto the empty canvas. You can also choose from a variety of free and paid landing page templates for everything from event registration to email lead capture.
Instapage includes simple built-in lead tracking, with leads displayed as text based on your form data. It’s possible to integrate Instapage with email marketing software like MailChimp, AWeber and GetResponse, as well as CRM tools like Salesforce and Zoho CRM.
A/B testing and performance metrics reporting are included, so you can split test landing pages right from the Instapage interface.
Instapage’s biggest strength is its powerful page builder, which has more customization options than its competitors.
Leadpages is an easy-to-use landing page application that lets you design, host and split test landing pages in minutes.
Designed for ease of use, Leadpages has a simple but powerful landing page builder that lets you drag and drop page elements to create a custom design, modify the color and style of page elements, and rewrite your landing page’s copy to meet your requirements.
The Leadpages builder isn’t quite as comprehensive as Instapage’s landing page builder, but this isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Leadpages’ simple interface means it runs very quickly and feels a little easier for non-designers to start using than its competitors.
Like Instapage, Leadpages comes with a large variety of different templates. A wide range of free templates are included with Leadpages, with paid templates available to purchase via the Leadpages marketplace.
Leadpages integrates with a variety of email marketing and CRM tools, making it easy to use it to generate leads for your email, phone or direct sales campaigns. A/B testing and performance metrics reporting are included in the Leadpages interface.
Although ClickFunnels is superficially similar to Instapage and Leadpages, it’s actually a very different type of application.
Like Instapage and Leadpages, ClickFunnels includes a landing page building tool. However, as a whole it’s a much more comprehensive piece of software, offering everything from opt-in forms and landing pages to email marketing automation, sales funnels, online product sales and more.
ClickFunnels is designed for marketers that need to create sales funnels — processes that make use of email, SMS and other marketing channels to develop leads from new prospects into loyal and valued customers.
In effect, it’s Leadpages or Instapage combined with an email marketing automation tool, a CRM tool and more.
If you just need a landing page tool, you’ll probably prefer Instapage or Leadpages.
